The room was big, on level 26, with a beautiful harbour view. The pool was huge and clean. But the bathtub seal was missing in parts, and it was very dusty whenever you opened or closed the curtain. The bed was springy, not quite a five-star bed. They also required a $1M vnd bond during our stay. The area felt like a ghost town, with not much to do, and it's far from the beach. The location is convenient if you're visiting Sun World Ha long, directly opposite, and it's close to the port where some day tour boats leave. Reception staff didn't try very hard to understand what I was asking. Even up on level 26, loud rave music kept pumping until 2am, and there was no escaping it in the room.

The location is good, and the price was right in the off season. I enjoyed my stay, though there were a few issues. This is a 5 star hotel, but they keep the lights off to save power. It's a real shame, because the crystal chandeliers look beautiful when back lit. The pool isn't heated, which is common here, so despite how lovely it looks in the photos, you can't use it for almost half the year. The main customers seem to be large tour groups, and the staff have got used to rushing everyone. From the 28th floor, I could hear the beach bar speakers aimed at the building, with loud music going until about 2am all night. Breakfast didn't offer many choices for a westerner. I ended up with some eggs and noodles, maybe $1usd worth of food on the local economy. There were lots of tour group members in the morning, so the omelette station became a fried egg emergency center. Next time I'd pay a tiny fraction more to stay at one of the nearby Wyndham properties.

Right in the city center next to the park and cable car, with all the entertainment venues within walking distance. Breakfast is okay, but the room with a Ha Long bay view is top notch. You wake up to a perfect sunrise.

The noise from the nightclub carried on late, and breakfast was sparse and already running out an hour before it ended. There was a 15-minute wait for the elevator, and the hotel sits a mile from the beach with construction sites around it. It felt badly overcrowded, service was absent, and the place is extremely overrated. They even ask for a 500k deposit in case you touch the minibar, which I’d never heard of. Worst stay I’ve had. Avoid it completely.
