Rosy Cruise

We found cockroaches in the room, which was a real letdown and took away from an otherwise great stay. Still, the service was outstanding, and the crew did a lot to make my birthday feel special. They were friendly and accommodating, there were plenty of activities, and the food was pretty good, even if it wasn’t the main attraction. The scenery was incredible throughout the Rosy Cruise trip. Being surrounded by limestone karsts felt surreal, and kayaking in Lan Ha Bay was a highlight since we could get out on the water and explore up close. It was a memorable experience, but they should improve pest control.

The staff went out of their way to make our one-night Rosy cruise special. Jasmine, our waitress, noticed at lunch that we liked the prawns and chicken, then brought extra portions of both at dinner. She was so attentive. Manager Happy was fun and shared lots of information about the area. Everyone was very friendly. We had a lovely room with a sea view from the balcony, and the food was excellent. It was also great to try authentic Vietnamese dishes. The activities were wonderful too: kayaking on the first day had amazing views, and the next day at the cave we spotted monkeys moving along the rock face. I’ll definitely recommend this cruise to others.

The people working there did their best, and that’s why I’d still give the trip three stars. Without them, it’d be two. It was an average cruise, though I think most boats are similar. They call it two days and one night, but we left at noon and got back before noon the next day, so it was less than a full day. There wasn’t much atmosphere or enjoyment, and the food was average. We kayaked by ourselves for an hour and were told we could swim near the boat, but the water was dirty. The bay generally had rubbish in it. On the second day, a 40-minute bamboo boat trip showed us almost nothing. Some activities were listed, but the experience didn’t feel lively. It isn’t luxury. I’d recommend trying it, but Ha Long Bay wouldn’t be a must-see on a Vietnam visit for me.

The cruise’s movement or vibration made a mug fall and break while we were asleep, but we were charged for it anyway. They said they couldn’t explain the situation to their boss. The staff were polite and helpful, but the food was poor and there wasn’t much to choose from. Halong Bay is beautiful to visit, but I wouldn’t recommend this company. There are plenty of others.
