The staff made us feel like first-class passengers, from opening the door and carrying our luggage to handling requests or concerns during the stay. Great work, and we'll definitely come back. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were great, and breakfast was good. There are also lots of tourist attractions nearby.
The location is lively and convenient, right by train street and close to the Michelin Pho restaurant. A tip: book a room with a window. I found the internal-window room, common in Hanoi hotels, hard to deal with because it had no natural light. The included gym and sauna were very well maintained, and the restaurant had a good, varied selection. The staff are what set the hotel apart. The restaurant team were excellent, and Christine on reception could teach customer service lessons internationally. She's brilliant, as are the rest of the staff. We always felt welcome. Recommended.
Breakfast was okay, with a good selection. It wasn't the best hotel buffet I've had, but it wasn't bad either. The service, though, was great. The reception team were kind and helpful, and they even peeled and prepared the mangoes we bought. We also asked for a late checkout and got two extra hours for free. We spent six nights at Hanoi Lion, and it was the best stay we've had in Vietnam. The Old Quarter location was super convenient, with everything within walking distance. The rooms and facilities were clean and well kept, and it was quiet inside despite the noisy street. I highly recommend Hanoi Lion hotel.
Billie, Rose, and Christine at reception were especially helpful, knowledgeable, and keen to make both our stay and onward travel go smoothly. Billie gave us guidance and recommendations, and even took time to research what we wanted to see and find the best service provider for our Ha Long Bay trip. We really appreciated it. The kitchen team, especially the waiters, were also exceptional. English wasn't their first language, but they made a real effort to understand what we needed and see that we were comfortable and well looked after. Their warmth and care made every meal pleasant. We had a wonderful stay at Hanoi Lion Boutique Hotel. The thoughtful, personal service made us feel valued from the moment we arrived, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and homely while exploring Hanoi. We'd happily come back and highly recommend it for attentive hospitality.
Breakfast was fantastic, with Asian and Western options, and the location was perfect. Train Street is under a five-minute walk, and Hoa Kiem Lake, Beer Street, the night market, and the Citadel are all walkable. We booked a trip to Ninh Binh through the hotel, and Rose went out of her way to suggest options. We really enjoyed our stay. Our room, 508, had a window, and even the large bathroom with a bathtub had an opening window. It was quiet despite looking onto the courtyard. Storage was a little limited, and we would've liked more shelves in the closet, but that was the only drawback. Rose and the rest of the staff were very attentive and friendly. There are two elevators, so the wait is never long. We didn't try the spa area. If we return to Hanoi, we'd love to stay here again.
