Bien Tay Hotel

I regret booking this place, and I wouldn't recommend it to non-smokers. Cigarette smoke burned my nostrils at night and kept me from sleeping. There were ashtrays in the hallway, and I saw staff smoking inside. In the morning, I woke to someone emptying their bladder for five straight minutes. There wasn't anything to do nearby, the beach wasn't pretty, and the road into the hotel was so rough I was vibrating. They charged $700VND a night, which wasn't worth it at all.

There's a toll just 20 feet before the hotel. I told the guard I had a reservation there, but still had to pay 😕

We rented bicycles in the city center and explored the area. It was beautiful and, surprisingly, hardly crowded at all. No mass tourism, just what we wanted. We stayed three nights and were very satisfied overall. The location is ideal for peace, beach, and nature, though finding food can be tricky without a way to get around since the restaurants along the beach are quite expensive. Our room was clean and functional, if not very large, and had a big TV with Netflix. The staff deserve special praise. They were friendly and helpful, and even with a language barrier at times, they looked after us and made sure we had what we needed.
