The new manager is dedicated and ambitious, and goes out of his way to meet guests' needs. Our room was nice and clean. It's in a lively part of town, about 5 minutes from the beach, with lots of food options nearby. There's a colorful market right out front, music shows at night, and the nightlife is hard to escape.

There's rarely anyone at the front desk, so we kept having to wait. The laundry service is a rip-off, so weigh your clothes yourself first. Our room didn't look like the pictures and wasn't clean. There were stains on the sheets and towels, and no duvet covers.

We ended up booking here after a last minute change of plans, and got more than we expected for the affordable price. The staff and management were very friendly and helpful, recommended places to visit in Cat Ba, and made sure we had what we needed. Motorbike rental is available at reception. Our spacious, bright, clean room had bay views and a fully equipped bathroom. There are restaurants, bars, and mini-markets nearby, and breakfast on the 9th floor came with great views and a varied menu. We enjoyed our stay and recommend the hotel.

There was so much wrong that I can't be bothered to list it all. When I complained, I was told it was cheap, as if that meant I shouldn't expect what I paid for. Apparently that was asking too much. Don't stay here.

I stayed here for 4 nights while visiting the island. The hotel was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
