The Chum Boutique

We stayed at Chum Boutique twice during our Vietnam trip, and both visits were excellent. The first was on our way down the coast from Hanoi to Hoi An, and the second was after our Phong Nha trek, the night before flying to HCMC. The staff were welcoming and always happy to help, and gave us fantastic suggestions for food and activities. The location felt close to everything, including the Imperial city, but was still quiet and relaxing. The river and markets were about a five-minute walk, or quicker by Grab or electric scooter. The rooms are beautiful, with polished concrete, velvety curtains, a stunning clawfoot tub, and separate toilet and shower areas. If you've been travelling around Vietnam for a while, you know how luxurious that feels. Thank you for a great experience both times. We'd 100% recommend staying here when visiting Hue.

There isn't a lift, but the stairs were easy to manage. The rooms were excellent, and the front desk was helpful. Great food options are within walking distance, and the citadel is easy to reach. Bikes are available outside the hotel if you book at the front desk, or you can rent them a block or two away.

The location is really convenient, right in the central area, and the bed was super comfy. I loved the beautiful vintage gothic decor and setup. It's a very beautiful, unique, standout hotel ❤️ We were left with the room option where the bathtub was outside. It was a shame we couldn't use it because we felt exposed and insecure there. The bathroom lighting could use improvement too.

The neighborhood was cute, with local street food alongside trendy cafes. A night market popped up on Friday, just 50m away. Chum Boutique felt like a 4-star hotel, so I'm not sure why Google listed it as 2 stars. The room matched the photos, and the hotel was beautiful and well looked after. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and lovely. Their restaurant and bar recommendations had just the right mix of Vietnamese places and spots suited to tourists. This is the only review I've left during our tour of Vietnam. Thanks for having us, Chum Boutique!
