We found the room a good size for the price, and there were cafes, restaurants, street food, and entertainment all around. We stayed for about two weeks on a short holiday and would return. The receptionist spoke only a little English, but we still managed to get what we needed.

The owner made us pay cash up front, so leaving wasn't really an option. The beds felt like rock, and if we managed to fall asleep, loud music played at full volume at 8 AM and woke us. We felt the guests got no respect. Worst hotel in Asia!

For a one-night stay at this price, it was okay. The room had air conditioning, a water heater, and a TV, and toiletries were provided in the toilet. But the floor was pretty dirty barefoot, the blanket was thin, and there were some burn marks on the bedsheet. The bed itself was rock hard. The male owner couldn't speak English, which made communication pretty difficult.

We stayed in Hai Phong twice, and for a budget place this was our best option. It's fairly central for the bus and ferry stations, with quite a few places to eat nearby. The woman who works there was nice. Beds are quite hard, though, and the entrance is down a few steps in an alley, so it can be confusing to find at first.

You can park a motorcycle in the lobby. Since the place is tucked in an alley off the main road, it should be quiet.
