After the hotel responded, I want to clarify: I said three days, so four days is more accurate. Jay messaged me on 15 February, and my reservation was for the 19th (see photo). I understand there was no deposit, and I booked through booking.com, which doesn't ask for one. Jay, are you saying you wouldn't have cancelled four days before the reservation if you'd taken a deposit? What upset me was that you already knew the dates. You messaged on 31 January 2026 to confirm my booking (see photo), and knew Tet was coming and the hotel might close. Why tell me only four days before I arrived? I did get a refund after the cancellation, but the late notice stressed us out while we tried to find somewhere else. If you'd told me earlier, we would have had more time to find another place. Don't trust this hotel! We booked three months ahead, so they already knew our travel dates. Jay had also contacted me about Ha Long bay tours along with the reservation. Three days before we were due to arrive, he messaged to say he had to cancel because of Tet Holidays. I completely understand it was New Year and staff wanted time off, but Jay should have told us earlier and given us enough notice to find other accommodation. Very disappointing customer service!

We didn't stay at the hotel, but we booked our overnight boat tour with Jay, and it was a lot of fun. He was honest, sincere, informative, and never pressured us. He gave us time to make up our minds. The restaurant gave us 15% off our meals because we'd booked with him, and the food was great. After the tour, we went back to Jay for help booking our bus. He was so helpful. I hope visitors stop by and see him for help with their stay.

This place combines a hotel, restaurant, and booking agency, and Jay made our experience stand out by helping with tour tickets and bus bookings. He’s a Cat Ba local and has over 10 years of guiding experience, so he knows the area well. When he approached us on the street, he was kind and honest, with no pressure to buy anything. He shared information, then encouraged us to take our time and decide what suited us. His sweet, sincere, calm manner put us at ease. If you need help arranging tours or transport in Cat Ba, I highly recommend Jay. He’s someone I’m genuinely happy to support.

Jay at the reception of Giang Son hotel made sure everything was arranged for us. He booked a night-time kayak tour to see Plankton bioluminescent at a very good price, and helped plan our full-day itinerary for the next day. We had a great stay and definitely recommend it. Well done, Jay!

The staff helped arrange a local tour in Cát Bà, and it turned out to be incredible. Dolphin Hotel was a great place for my one-night retreat, and the convenient location put everything close by. There’s also a fantastic restaurant right next door with delicious meals. Breakfast had a good range of tasty options, and I especially enjoyed the foosball table in the lounge. I had a wonderful time and highly recommend the hotel for a relaxing stay.
