A25 Hotel - 109 Truc Bach

After a last-minute booking cancellation, I found a pet-friendly hotel. The location is perfect, next to West Lake and just a short scooter ride from the Old Quarter. Ryan and the staff were so helpful, from carrying my bags to helping me upgrade rooms. I’ll absolutely stay again. Thanks again!

The room itself is very basic, though the bathroom was decent. I got the impression this might be more of a love hotel, since I often heard women moaning for a few minutes. The bed was really hard, and most of the breakfast spread was cold. The cook was around, though, and the pho or fried eggs you could order were good. One other thing: they offer a late checkout discount if you show them a five-star Google review, which could skew the hotel's average on Google Maps. It was okay, but I wouldn't return.

I had to leave my previous hotel, Central, because it was awful, full of bugs and cockroaches. This place rescued my stay in Ha noi. The staff don't speak much English, so I used a translator, but they were incredibly kind. I overslept on my first morning and they still let me have breakfast. The room wasn't very big, but it had everything I needed and was super clean. I also liked the location, since staying right in the centre of Ha noi hadn't felt very relaxing. The staff couldn't manage even basic English, which made getting simple breakfast information frustrating. Breakfast is brought to your room, and it was so poor that waiting 30 minutes for it felt like a waste. In a capital city hotel serving foreign visitors, you'd expect them to learn a few useful phrases or write the information down for guests. The room was tiny and had no window. And the bed was unbelievably hard, the floor might've been softer. Horrible place.
