A25 Hotel - Nguyen Thai Hoc

The people at reception and the lady who cooks breakfast were absolutely brilliant, lovely, and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room okay, but there are plenty of problems. Drilling next door starts at 06.00-07.00 every morning, so expect to wake up. There's only one elevator, and more than once I had to wait through three uses before I could get on. That's not 4*. The shower floods the bathroom every time. They say it's meant to be like that, but stepping out into a puddle is rubbish. Breakfast coffee was cold to lukewarm every single day. For a nation known for coffee, and my favourite in the world, that's disgraceful. I personally didn't like the location. It was within a 20-minute walk of where I spent my days, which is why I chose it, but there were hardly any decent restaurants nearby for dinner, at least for a solo traveler. I won't be back. If I opened a hotel in Hanoi, though, I'd poach the three reception staff. They were fab!

The breakfast was poor, with few choices and low quality. Even though we arrived at 7:15 a.m., there was hardly any food left and we had to ask repeatedly for refills. Staff also left the tables uncleared, so the dining area was untidy. On top of that, construction caused a lot of noise in the afternoon, and the room was very small.

Good value for the money and a comfortable bed. The staff were super helpful, and they got our laundry done quickly. Hung was especially great. Thank you!

Luckily, the AC unit is good quality. The hotel seems fairly new, but the shower heads already have calcification damage. The room looks clean at first, though I noticed the floor wasn't very clean when walking barefoot. The TV is new but low quality and unresponsive, like a Chinese knock-off. The motorbike parking is a ridiculously small room, accessed from a filthy backstreet beside a filthy vendor selling caged live pigeons and chickens during the day.
