Canary Hanoi Hotel

We were worn out from traveling, so we ended up taking the rooms they offered just to get some rest. The staff were kind, but they wouldn’t honor our Booking.com reservation. I showed the confirmation, and they said it wasn’t in their records and was for another Canary Hanoi Hotel branch. I searched, but couldn’t find another branch with that name. The booking photos matched their hotel exactly, yet they still refused the reservation. They offered vacant rooms at a higher price or told us to find somewhere else.

We stayed three nights and had a very bad experience. Some stains on the towels and sheets were removable, but the hotel charged us 1,000,000 dongs and said they couldn’t be removed. They charged without even trying to clean the items properly. When we washed them ourselves, the stains came out. We’ve stayed at many hotels and used their towels and sheets without being charged like this. It’s totally unacceptable, and charging for stains they didn’t even try to remove feels like looting people. Some of the lights in our room didn’t work either. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or stay there again.

We booked a standard room, but it was spacious and had a large shower, with great value for money. The hotel is new. Around 11pm, the young man checking us in was very helpful and offered to order food from his phone because we were hungry after a long flight and the nearby restaurants were closed. Breakfast had a nice range, with cooked-to-order options as well as a continental buffet. It’s outside the old quarter, but Grab rides are so cheap. I’d stay again.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the 10th, top floor, though there’s no lunch or dinner service. The room was comfortable and relaxing, with a large shower, toiletries, and air conditioning that worked well and could be adjusted to suit you. Reception staff were efficient and helpful with things like ordering a taxi or finding somewhere to eat.
