When our bank cards were stolen on the first day, the staff helped us get cash and made sure we calmed down. I really appreciated their quick WhatsApp replies and practical solutions while I was panicking. The staff were lovely throughout. The hotel is in a great Old Quarter location, entered through a coffee shop, and they make nice coffee there too. Our room was very clean, with water, a fridge, and a shower with four different heads. The comfortable bed had blackout curtains, though the soundproofing was only average, so earphones would help at night. We asked for a balcony with a nice view, which meant climbing five flights of stairs. It was good exercise, and I'd experienced that everywhere I stayed in Vietnam, so it wasn't a problem for me. I'd recommend the place for its location, friendly staff, and view.

The central Old Quarter location was a big plus, and the room was very nice and cleaned daily. Check-in went smoothly, and communication with the hotel before arrival was great. But the noise made it difficult to sleep, and knowing how hard it is to escape the all-night chaos, I'd avoid this area next time. Motorcycles seemed to go on constantly, though I don't know if that was seasonal, and other guests often arrived late. The hot water didn't last long enough for a full shower, and the pillows were uncomfortable.

Massive rooms for the price and a location with the best of the city right at your doorstep make this a distinctive place to stay. It's a boutique, homestay-style accommodation in a beautiful French colonial building, with a clean, stylish refuge from the Old Quarter's chaotic charm. It has real personality and suits anyone wanting character over generic luxury. A good fit if you'd like to feel like you're living in Hanoi rather than just visiting.

The owner accused us of turning off the main water when the toilet stopped flushing completely on our final night. We had no idea how to do that, and were left without basic sanitation. Earlier, at 10 PM, the bathroom bidet burst and sprayed water everywhere. The noise woke my husband, and if he hadn't woken up, there was a genuine risk of electrocution and major flooding. Heavy construction happened directly outside our room through the morning and continued during the day, making sleep impossible. No one had mentioned it when we arrived. I've booked through booking.com many times and rarely been disappointed; usually disruptions wouldn't make me feel a need to leave a review, but the lack of maintenance, accountability, and regard for guest safety was unacceptable.

We could walk to everything from this very central spot in Hanoi's Old Quarter. The room was comfortable and cut down some of the street noise, though we still heard a little. There were quite a few stairs to reach it, which wasn't a problem for us since we traveled light, but could inconvenience others. For the price, it was a great stay.
