Concon House

I was awake around 5:30 every morning because there were no blinds and the rising sun filled the room with light. Aside from that, it’s a lovely hotel in a prime spot in the old quarter. The rooms were tidy, clean, modern, and nicely decorated, and the staff were consistently lovely and spoke very good English. Good service and a great price. I’d recommend it.

The location in the middle of the old quarter is great, and the hotel is tucked away enough to cut down on street noise. It’s beautifully furnished, and the receptionists spoke fluent English and were very service-minded. That’s why I still give it five stars, even though the room wasn’t very practical. There wasn’t room to keep two suitcases open, no closet, only a tiny mirror by the sink, and nowhere to put toiletries around the sink. The room was also very humid when we arrived, and the bed felt a little wet.

We stayed in the cozy and rainy rooms, and preferred the cozy one because it really was cozy. The rooms were cleaned daily, and after checkout we could leave our luggage there and go about our day. The staff were lovely, accommodating, and helpful. Both the hotel and its quiet location in the center of the old quarter were amazing, with many attractions nearby. Totally recommend.

The staff were really helpful, and the laundry was high quality and affordable. The old quarter spot is right in the middle of the action, though some larger tour buses may not manage the narrow area and might have to collect you outside the quarter. It’s a nice place, but felt more like an architectural project than a hotel. We were next to the elevator, and there’s a big window in the toilet area, so you have to shut the blinds unless you want people seeing you come out of the shower. The room gets humid without the aircon on. There’s little space, nowhere to hang clothes, not much table room, and only a small mirror in the toilet. The rooms open directly outdoors, so you step into the heat as soon as you leave, instead of into an indoor hallway.
