Du Palace hotel & Spa

At Hotel Du Palace, the rooms, service, and location were good, and the organized trips themselves were very good too. The problem was the cost. We booked trips through the hotel, then learned after arriving in Hanoi that they were much more expensive than what outside organizers charged. I’d expected hotel guests to get cheaper rates, so seeing those prices was very disappointing. I also got sick on the day of the city tour and let them know early that morning. Since they hadn’t bought a ticket or lunch for me, I asked if that money could be saved and refunded. Daily said it couldn’t be done. At least part of the cost could have been returned, but she didn’t try. There was another issue at King Spa, which is inside the hotel building. I wanted a manicure and pedicure. At first they quoted 250 in Vietnamese cash, then said that covered hands only and both services would cost double. Since it was late, I agreed. After the work they raised it to 450, saying nail colors were extra. I felt they were cheating me and said I wouldn’t pay. They also wanted a 3% card surcharge, despite the original promise that hotel guests wouldn’t be charged one. I refused as the charges kept going up, and they eventually agreed to take the card without the surcharge. Don’t get your nails done at King Spa. It was very bad.

The breakfast was lovely, and they’ll cook eggs fresh at the counter however you like them. Our room was clean, with a comfortable bed and very soft sheets. The staff were kind and helpful, and the laundry service was reasonably priced. Our clothes came back very clean and smelling nice. I’d happily recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Hanoi.

The hotel’s in the heart of the Old Quarter, with great restaurants and coffee shops all around, and the rooms are beautiful and clean. The bed was really comfortable too. Ms. Daily was a huge help. In just 30 minutes, she arranged our bus from the Ha Giang Loop to Hanoi, a HaLong Bay cruise, and a night at her hotel. When we arrived, she also booked our flight to Phu Quoc. She speaks excellent English and clearly knows how to get things organized. Breakfast was delicious, the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed a wonderful massage at the hotel. We’d definitely come back and highly recommend the place.

We stayed five nights at the Hotel du Palace in Hanoi, with excursions to three destinations in between. Every time we came back, the staff made us feel warmly welcomed. They were attentive, friendly, and ready to help with anything, including getting a vietnamese Sim card. The hotel is right in the city center, and breakfast was freshly made and delicious. Miss Daily helped us pick and arrange great trips. Our outings to Sa Pa, Ninh Binh, and Lan Ha Bay were all fantastic, so it’s hard to choose a favorite. Most of the tours were in small groups, which made them feel personal and unique. Everything was well organized. We’d happily recommend both the hotel and booking tours through them. It took a lot of stress out of traveling and left us more time to enjoy each place. We had a wonderful stay.
