Era Apartment Royal City

I paid about $11.70 a night for a very average room. It was clean, and I actually like the very hard mattress, but the kitchen was poorly equipped, with no cutting board, forks, knives, or frying pan. I had to buy all of that myself. There were no outlets by the bed either. The neighborhood was atmospheric and I enjoyed the feel of everyday life in Vietnam, but it could get noisy: a soccer field, weekend karaoke until midnight, and a piano next door. The narrow street is inaccessible to taxis, so you have to walk around 300 meters. That wasn't far, but it was a real drawback carrying my 24-26kg plane bag, which had no wheels or handle. GrabFood also struggled to find the address despite always sending directions with pictures. The bathroom has no window. When it rains, everything in there gets wet; when it doesn't, the room feels stuffy. The air conditioner was powerful but aimed right at the bed, so I couldn't sleep with it on. I'd set it to 26°C at 10:00 PM, wake an hour later freezing from air that felt like Antarctica, raise it to 27°C at 11:00 PM, then have to adjust it again 30 minutes later because I was sweating. It went on every night, and I was tired and annoyed. On the last night I was so exhausted I slept through the cold air without changing the settings, and now I'm sick. I regret not paying $2-4 more per night for a better room in a better location. If the location works for you and saving money is the priority, you could stay here, but I'd personally add $2-3 and book somewhere else.
