I booked a particular room at Era Apartment Tam Da for a business trip, but was assigned one on the 7th floor. To reach it, I had to get off on the 6th and climb narrow housekeeping stairs. The fridge smelled of rotten yogurt, the bathroom was dirty with urine stains on the toilet seat, the windows and blinds wouldn't open, and there was no fan. I had to use a filthy, uncleaned AC, which triggered my respiratory problems. The TV projector didn't work, and the kitchen area was grimy. The staff seemed inexperienced and in their early 20s. I checked in at 10pm before a morning business meeting, but they later charged extra for late checkout without reminding me beforehand that checkout was at 12pm. They only messaged at 1pm and rudely told me to sort it out with the booking platform. I rushed back and checked out at 1:15pm. It felt like a deliberate setup to charge extra. The hospitality was extremely disappointing. Avoid it if you value your money, time, and comfort.
The place was clean, the room was nice, and the location was decent. The bed was firm, as is common in budget places around Vietnam, but that wasn't a major problem. What left me disappointed was the slow communication and lack of follow-through. We booked a Superior Apartment with Balcony, but couldn't open the balcony doors. We told the property and were told someone would come check later, but nobody showed up. Several messages took a long time to get answered, including questions about extending our stay and room issues. The staff were polite when they replied, but the delays were frustrating. We were only there for two nights, so the balcony problem wasn't a huge deal, but if you pay for a balcony room, you expect to use it. And when staff say they'll fix something, they should follow through.
I've been staying here for more than a week and I'm really happy with it. The rooms and facilities are clean, with whatever you'd need in a room. The staff are the best part, so charming and cheerful. They're wonderful people. I'd recommend Era Apartment :)
It's a decent room, though not very spacious. Fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep at night.
I was on the 7th floor during the recent holiday. The room was a good size for a couple, and renting a motorbike there was really convenient. The location worked well, but it was a bit hard to find. The driver had to circle around for a while before we spotted the apartment. It's near West Lake, which is nice for evening walks. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi who needs a place to stay.
