Granda Duy Tan Apartment

I’d paid for the Agoda booking, but when I arrived they said every room was full and there wasn’t anything available. They transferred me to another hotel far from the old quarter. I didn’t like what happened.

We came with our family, including my wife and small child, and were shocked by how old and dirty everything was. The walls were moldy, the sheet was dirty, the bathroom looked old and used, and ants were crawling around. Staff showed us another room, which was almost worse. When I showed them the Google pictures, they said they were apartments, not suites. I’m not sure if that’s true, but I’d definitely stay away from the apartments. She said the suites were being renovated. We left the very next day. It was a scary experience.

The rooms were incredibly dirty. The slippers had been used by who knows how many people, the linens were worn and yellowing, the floor was dusty, and the door handles felt slimy. There were no proper toiletries, just little disposable shampoo and body wash sachets. Pathetic. The staff were rude and indifferent. They made me pay 100k for early check-in, and I bet she pocketed the money. Don’t trust the five-star ratings from people with only one or two reviews. This hotel, apartment, whatever you want to call it, is definitely no suite. You could use it if you want somewhere cheap, but I learned my lesson. I want my dignity.

The bath was nice, and the staff were lovely and especially helpful in the laundry room. We were woken in the morning by a drum show in the street. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but it still affected our stay. There isn’t much to do around the streets at night.
