Hanoi Apartment

It's a local apartment with a cheap rental fee, but you have to pay for electricity too. A studio or one-bedroom is about 10M, and a two-bedroom is 13.5M.

Since management changed, the service has been extremely poor. The previous owner and staff were enthusiastic about handling guest issues and service problems. I don’t know how well trained the new management and staff are, but their behavior has been terrible. They treat long-term tenants paying 14 million VND a month with utter frustration. Even for minor everyday problems, such as a broken doorknob or loose screws on a clothes rack that need reinstalling, the staff and management were unenthusiastic about helping or fixing things. They even argued with tenants. Very disappointing, very bad, low quality. I hope my contract ends soon so I can move elsewhere. Given the considerable cost and this experience, it’s truly frustrating.

I’ve traveled to Hanoi many times for work, but this stay left me very disappointed. I’ll never come back. The apartment is on Lac Long Quan street, right at a bend, so it’s easy to drive too fast and have to turn around. It’s mainly for long-term rental, but when there are no tenants, they switch to short-term bookings. At 900k/day, the price is far too high for this experience and not worth it at all. The room was run down and poorly soundproofed, so you could clearly hear people talking in the hallway. There was noise from the elevator, cleaning staff, AC, refrigerator, and water pump. It smelled bad from sewage fumes. There was no trash can, toilet paper, or drinking water. The facilities were dilapidated, the furniture was moldy and had calcium deposits, and the faucets leaked and were oxidized. The slippers were so slippery that I fell.

The host was helpful and friendly from arrival through departure. I was very satisfied with my two-day stay. The room was clean and well equipped, and felt quiet and comfortable, just like home. It’s conveniently close to lots of restaurants and attractions, so getting around was easy. If I get the chance to return to Hanoi, I’ll choose this place again.
