Hanoi Bonsella Hotel

The staff at Bonsella Hotel were fantastic, always friendly, polite, and helpful. We found it a lovely home away from home and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi. Its location made it easy to explore Old Hanoi. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the included breakfast was fresh with plenty of choices each morning. Afternoon tea on the 12th floor was a nice extra when we were back near the hotel. There are fantastic Hoan Kiem Lake views from both the breakfast room and rooftop bar.

We spent over a week at Bonsella Hotel and loved it. We plan to stay there each year when we visit. Hieu at the front counter, and Lon and Tien in the kitchen, were excellent. When a friend had a bad accident, the staff were understanding, helpful, and went beyond what was required. The rooms are large and lovely, and everything was spotless. Breakfast was very good, with fresh pho soup or eggs available to order. The hotel is in a superb Old Quarter spot near the city centre, good shopping, and the lake. It’s great value, and we recommend staying here in Hanoi.

There are good cafés and restaurants nearby, with the lake on the next lane. Vegan food, shopping, and several laundry options are all a short walk away. The location is excellent and the rooms decent. The checkout left us pretty disappointed. They asked us for photo proof of certain things, which we hadn't expected and found shocking and very annoying. We had five rooms at the hotel. From my experience travelling in Vietnam, it’s better to photograph the room, handle towels and linen carefully, and not use the laundry bag for personal storage because it isn’t free. I’m sure people who’ve travelled will know what I mean.

The breakfast was lovely, and there’s a rooftop bar too. It’s quiet but still close to everything, and the beds are comfy. I adored my stay because everyone was so, so nice, friendly, and helpful. Highly recommend it if you like kind people and a beautiful place.
