The room was clean, comfortable and fresh, and we slept well. It wasn’t the most luxurious, but it had toiletries and a hairdryer, and the bathroom was well stocked with toiletries and had hot and cold water. The staff were kind and attentive, bringing fresh fruit and tea to the lobby. When one of our companions had a birthday, they surprised them with rose petals and a cake on the bed. They also gave us free early check-in since the room was available, shared good nearby spa and coffee recommendations, and sent us off with coffee for our next destination. The location is right in the city center, so food, shopping and coffee are all less than a 15 min walk away. There’s also a spa under the hotel that does great eyelash extensions. Great value for money, would recommend!

The location was the one real plus during our stay at Hanoi Harmonia Hotel & Spa. The hotel did pack breakfast for us once when we had to leave before breakfast began, which was thoughtful. But another morning, a staff member yelled at us for arriving five minutes before the official start, even though we had an early bus to catch. Noise was the biggest problem. We could hear people in nearby rooms talking, bathing, and even very private activities, so it was hard to sleep. The rooms were tiny and felt closer to a 2-star place than a 4-star hotel. Breakfast was average, and the dining area was cramped. Water came in glass bottles rather than sealed packaged bottles, which left me unsure about its quality. There was no bath mat after using the bathroom, either. The stay was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The location is convenient, with the market area, Train Street, and the lake all walkable. Everything else made this the worst stay of our Vietnam trip. We had confirmed a Triple Deluxe Room with a balcony or window facing the main street, but on arrival we were told it had been given to someone else. Reception was rude, arrogant, and unhelpful, and made no effort to sort things out or offer a satisfactory alternative. At checkout, the staff were impatient and hurried us along without courtesy. Despite the handy location, the service and disregard for guests made this a very unpleasant experience. I wouldn't recommend the hotel.

We’ll definitely come back to Hotel Harmonia when we’re in Hanoi next year. It’s right among the shops and restaurants in the Old Quarter, and the rooms were neat. The concierge team were courteous, thoughtful, and accommodating. They were also willing to let us check in early when our room was ready.
