Hanoi Party Backpacker Hostel

Tee at reception made getting in and out of Hanoi easy and pleasant. They handled my requests quickly, and the hostel can sort out tours, scooter hire, laundry, airport rides, train and bus tickets, and luggage storage. They even offered me a free night after an excursion. The place itself is pretty ordinary, but the location is amazing. I'd definitely recommend it.

Thi waited for me even though my flight was delayed and I arrived at midnight, after check-in had ended at 11. Check-in and checkout were both quick and simple, and the bed and room were clean. It's in a great spot. Thank you!

Breakfast was great, the staff were nice, and they kindly arranged a top bunk when I asked. The price is affordable, and there’s a lovely free walking tour you can sign up for. The room itself needs work and didn't look like the photos. It was dusty, the floor hadn't been mopped, and some curtains were torn. The main locker needs your own padlock, while the small bedside locker uses the key they provide; a couple of the other lockers were broken. There wasn't hot water on the first day, though someone came to fix it the next day. The double bed was very large but squeaked, and I felt bad about disturbing other people. The window shown in the photo seemed to promise a bright room, but ours had a dusty window opening onto what was kind of a balcony passage, so it let in little light.

I won't come back or recommend this place. I felt the treatment was awful unless you were a Western tourist. They put me on an upper floor, like the third or fourth, and with no lift I had to leave my larger bags at reception, where anyone could take them. There was no staff member to help carry luggage upstairs either. Cleaning staff came into my room while I was still there. I asked them to return later since I was checking out in about half an hour, but she didn't listen. The location is just okay, with amenities nearby.
