I booked three nights directly through the website, but didn’t realize the room had no window. I decided not to stay, and after I raised the issue, the hotel kindly agreed to charge me for just one night. Hao was professional and very helpful. He took care of our luggage, showed us the room, and tried to make us feel welcome. My experience with the receptionist was much less positive. We had several misunderstandings and found it difficult to communicate. English is my second language, and I work in hospitality too, so I know language barriers happen. Still, I felt she wasn’t listening closely to our concerns or doing much to resolve them. Things only became clear and got properly addressed after I spoke directly with the owner. I appreciate the efforts to resolve the issue, but the experience as a whole left me disappointed.

The rooftop pool was a lovely place to unwind after exploring, and breakfast had plenty of tasty choices. My room stayed clean, with fresh towels provided regularly. The hotel is near the Old Quarter, so it was easy to get around while still having somewhere quiet to return to. Mr. Son and Mr. Hao were especially kind and helpful, sorting out our taxi pickup and answering my other questions. I had a really enjoyable stay and would recommend it to anyone after a comfortable, relaxing visit to Hanoi.

My room was beautiful, with a bathtub and two beds, and I had a really good stay. Breakfast was the best I’ve had in Hanoi: a proper buffet with fresh omelettes cooked in front of you, plus rice, pork and fresh orange juice. The reception team were lovely, and Hao was so helpful with my bags and the doors. Just be aware the hotel is a little outside the Old Quarter, and the pool won’t be available until next month. The service was the real highlight for me.

The hotel sits in a narrow alley off the main road, but the inner room was quiet even with the busy road nearby. Getting around was easy: frequent buses stop in front and take you to the Old Quarter, and nearby public transport is convenient and inexpensive. The staff were friendly and gave useful advice. They also let us have an extra half hour at checkout so we could repack after some last-minute shopping, which saved us having to do it in the lounge. Breakfast was generous, and the rooftop restaurant and pool have a good Red River view. The refurbished hotel was comfortable, well managed, and a very pleasant stay.

After I got home, I realized I’d left some jewellery in my room. The front desk replied quickly, had housekeeping check straight away, and found it. They’ve offered to send it back and have been supportive and efficient throughout. That really impressed me. During the stay, staff were polite and helpful, and shared good suggestions for local places to eat. The receptionist team gave me a warm welcome, and one person even hurried down the entrance stairs to help with my bag. I was shown the pool and gym: the pool has beautiful city views, and the clean gym has what you need. My room was modern and clean, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee, a good-sized TV, and an iron and board. The Old Quarter is only a 3-4 minute scooter ride away. I had an amazing experience and can’t recommend Hanoi Sail Hotel enough.
