The only good points were that it was cheap and affordable, with a 24hr convenient stall right out front where you could easily get things you needed. The location is in the old quarter, right by the corner, but the entrance was full of the smell of rubbish from the rubbish collector lady. The room was unhygienic, with an unbelievable bad smell from the toilet inside the doom. The entire doom had no locker, no windows, no fresh air, and no door key. Neither the door nor the two doom had locks, so people from outside could get in at any time, 24hr. The air-conditioning wasn’t cool, and there was no tolwer provided. The whole doom shared one toilet, which was very dirty and smelled bad, with no toilet window either. When I checked in, nobody was at the front counter, and I waited 30 minutes before going across the road to ask the shop owner to call them. Take notes, don’t trust Agoda, trip.com, or booking.com pictures and reviews. Check all the Google reviews and look for honest comments from traveler customers. If this hostel doesn’t update or improve anything, I bet it’ll go down badly in business in the future.

The place made me uncomfortable from the start. The door was often left unlocked, staff weren’t always around, and there were no lockable lockers. I’d also heard that luggage had been stolen there before. Even as a guy, I didn’t feel at ease staying there. The room was hot and humid even in February, and the bedding had stains. The bathroom was filthy and had a smell I can’t describe. The photos are misleading, and I really wouldn’t recommend this hostel. The other guests on my floor seemed to be older men staying long term. They spent much of the day in bed and did odd things, like using the bathroom with the door open.

For a cheap hostel, this was a good stop for one night before I left Hanoi. The hosts were welcoming, the bed was comfortable, and there was soap and toilet paper in the bathroom. I’ve paid similar low prices elsewhere and had a less clean bed, no soap, and unfriendly service, so this stands out as one of Hanoi’s better budget options. The shower hose was a little broken, so I used the tap setting instead of the shower head. It still worked. Thanks for having me, I could easily have stayed longer.

The location is the real plus here. It’s a good hostel, and you can walk to nearly all the tourist spots.

I wouldn’t recommend this room. It was dirty and unattractive, and didn’t look like the pictures they used to advertise it. For this price, you can find a better hostel.
