Helios Legend Hotel

The hotel is in a good spot, the staff are great, and the included breakfast was okay and plentiful. Still, the place is shabby and needs maintenance. The hot water was plentiful but dangerously hot. The mattress was somewhat worn, and the comforter had stains. The shower valve for switching heads was broken, and there was no toilet paper holder, so the paper sat on top of the toilet, fell onto the floor, and got wet. The refrigerator didn’t work. The hallway outside our room smelled like sewage, though we didn’t notice any smell in the room.

Everyone on staff had a happy smile and the service was nice. My flight was late, but the two men on night duty were especially helpful and prepared a big bowl of noodles for me. Thanks so much, brothers. I found the place really convenient. The interior decor was okay, though some of the wall stickers need maintenance. You can hear a little noise from the club at night.

We got a huge room, and breakfast was good, with fruit, salads, juice, and more. The location is good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The place is run down, so you get what you pay for. The shower didn’t work properly, the air conditioner wouldn’t turn on, and the sink leaked and left water everywhere when we used it to wash our faces. The sheets were stained, the comforter had holes, and the club right next door played such loud music that we could barely sleep. We stayed one Saturday night.

The hotel is well placed for walking around and close to several sights, though it’s a noisy area, as you’d expect in the Old Quarter. The rooms are older and weren’t very clean. In the morning we found ants in the bed and a cockroach in the bathroom. We stayed one night. Staff were a bit pushy about selling tour packages. They started asking us to book things before we’d even finished checking in. You get what you pay for here, and there are hundreds of hotels nearby to choose from. I’d only stay if it were heavily discounted. Other hostels I’ve stayed at were better.
