Hoan Kiem Hostel

The walking street location is super convenient, though it can get noisy at times. I spent three days in a deluxe room and had no real problems. It seemed fairly clean to me, and the staff were fine. Four stars from me. 👍

We left because the room was too dirty, even after we asked to move from the cold room where we couldn’t shut the windows. Nearby, we found a much better hotel for about the same price.

Unless you’re booking one of the most expensive rooms, I’d steer clear. The cheaper rooms are dark and windowless, with dirty conditions, badly worn and sagging mattresses, and a toilet that leaks and smells.

The place doesn’t match the photos. The four-person dorm had lousy beds, and the shower barely worked. There were only a few minutes of hot water.
