HOTEL de LAGOM

The hotel was clean, nicely decorated, smelled good, and was easy to get around on foot. But the concierge service fell short for us. During Tet, the front desk said all motorbike rentals were closed and that the earliest they could arrange one was two days later. My husband and I had never been to Hanoi for Tet, so we accepted that and set out to explore on foot. Then we came across a rental shop just one block away and rented a bike without any trouble. I was disappointed by the lack of effort and what felt like an “I don’t care” attitude. At check-in, the front desk also told us all shops and restaurants would be closed for Tet, essentially saying Ha Noi wasn't a good time to visit then. Most did close, but we found some shops still open, so that wasn't true. A hotel offering five-star hospitality could have called around to find open shops or restaurants to recommend. In my personal opinion, Hotel De LAGOM didn't meet a five-star standard. What sets that level apart from four or three stars is superior, personal service.

The grand suite was very spacious, clean, and stocked with toiletries, including a comb, shower cap, dental kit, shampoo, conditioner, and slippers. Our room faced away from the main hotel street, so it was quiet and peaceful. We didn't mind missing the street view. The service was the best part. Everyone was welcoming, helped with our luggage, and saw us off as we got into our taxis. Since we don't speak Vietnamese fluently, they helped us book a massage and also suggested food and attractions. The location made it easy to walk to places like Nha spa, Haflington, Hanoi train street, and the 2024 Asia’s top 47 bars. There were lots of cafes and food spots on the street too. Amazing boutique hotel in the heart of Hanoi, especially if you care about comfort and good service.

Breakfast was fresh and tasty, a lovely way to start the day. I slept really well too, with a comfortable bed and a peaceful room. My room was spacious and spotless, with care taken over the details. The staff were attentive and very friendly throughout my visit, and the hotel is in a handy area for getting around and exploring. I recently stayed at Hotel Delagom and found the whole visit relaxing and smooth. I can't think of anything to fault.

We felt very welcome and comfortable here. The room had a lovely balcony overlooking the street, and it stayed quiet at night. The bed was really comfy, so we slept well. There's a gym and spa on site. We stayed five nights, and the central location was handy, about a five-minute walk from Train street. The staff were very professional and walked us through a map of the area and things to do. Nobody else had done that during our whole trip.
