The rooms felt a little dated, but the property was a peaceful, lovely place to return to after busy sightseeing days. It's a calm, elegant setting that balances comfort with luxury, and a good base for exploring Hanoi. The lakeside location feels like a resort, while still being handy for Old Quarter, Tran Quoc Pagoda, and other attractions. We visited with family for a mid-May leisure trip and, as a Diamond Elite member, I was upgraded to a wonderful overwater residence. It was roomy, comfortable, and had what we needed for a relaxing stay. Staff were warm, professional, and attentive from before we arrived. Ms Ha Truong, Ms Ngoc Nguyen, and the rest of the team helped make our visit memorable. Breakfast had lots of variety and options for different tastes. We're vegetarian, and especially appreciated the Indian counter. I'd recommend this hotel to families or anyone looking for a memorable Hanoi stay.

My partner and I had a great stay here. The lake views are gorgeous, and the setting is really picturesque in the city, which was perfect for her photos. Our room was quiet, clean, comfortable, and well air-conditioned, with all the touches you'd expect from a five-star room. The decor might seem dated to some, but I liked it. The TVs are old, though Hanoi's a place to explore, not sit and watch television. There are great restaurants, a bar, and breakfast, plus excellent room service. The staff were very friendly. We'd happily recommend it.

The overwater city view made my five-day stay so relaxing and enjoyable. Mr. Quang, if I'm remembering his name right, greeted me so sweetly each morning at the breakfast buffet. That made the stay especially memorable. I hope to see you again. I'd definitely stay here again when I return to Hanoi.

We stayed in one of the apartments, and it was spacious, clean, private, and had its own laundry, which was really handy halfway through our trip. The property is literally built on a lake, so the views are incredible. Tea time was fun, and we walked around the area, where there were lots of restaurants and what I think was a temple. It was cool seeing all the activity nearby. We loved this hotel.

We appreciated the upgrade to an overwater room, thanks to my husband's IHG platinum elite status. We stayed four days and three nights in December. Arrival service was excellent and stayed that way throughout, and the spacious hotel grounds felt quiet, relaxing, and charming. There aren't many amenities nearby, though that didn't bother us much. The rooms were clean and large, but extremely dated. The TV looked like it was from the early 2000s, and we didn't bother turning it on. The old hair dryer stopped working when its cord was angled differently. Paint was peeling along the bathtub, and the toilet could use an upgrade. Compared with other InterContinental hotels we've stayed at around Asia, this room needed a lot. Updating the appliances alone would have made things more comfortable. We booked a different boutique hotel elsewhere in Hanoi for the last part of our trip, and it was much more pleasant at a fraction of the cost. With so many places to stay in Hanoi, you can find a better experience for better value. If you're after luxury, I'd caution against booking here. We wouldn't recommend it.
