Jade Boutique Hotel

The staff were so friendly and helpful. My husband left his jacket behind, and they helped arrange to send it to him. Thank you! The room was clean and had all the equipment we needed, though there weren't any extra pillows. The hotel is set a little inside and cars can't reach it, so you have to walk in. Still, it's easy to come and go, with Ly Quoc Su Street nearby and Hanoi Cathedral about a 10-minute walk away. Hoan Kim Lake is close too.

I stayed in the ACE hostel on the hotel's ground floor. The hostel doesn't seem to have its own Google Maps location, at least for now. It's got the basics for a night in a capsule: power outlets, a dimmable light, curtain, towel, and a clean shower. The lockers are large, but you need to ask for a lock. There are two washing machines and two dryers, and staff can do your laundry for a fee. The location is super convenient. I expected the busy-looking street to be noisy, but I was wrong about that. I also met a friend there and had company for a few days in the city, which was great. The mattresses are really hard, though. A friend with back pain had to move upstairs to a hotel room. I was too tired to care much, honestly, but the beds did bring my rating down. Some towel hooks by the capsules would help too.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the location made it easy to find great food and go shopping. We got a free upgrade to a massive suite for three nights, making this the best hotel we've stayed at in Hanoi. We would've stayed longer, but they had no rooms left. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Hanoi.

We were there for eight nights, and the attentive staff and tasty breakfast made the stay an easy recommendation. It's less than a five-minute walk to the lively old town. We'll come back here on our next trip to Hanoi.
