Lotus Village Hotel

The location is the one real plus, right in the middle of the old quarter. The bathroom wasn't very clean, and the toilet was oddly positioned. Only two staff members were nice. The others were unhelpful and sometimes rude.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. It was the worst hotel stay of my life. The room was awful: stale cigarette and mold smells, stained sheets, hair on the pillows, and grime all over the bathroom. The shower drain was clogged, too. Thin walls meant I heard every hallway conversation and noise from next door, so sleep was impossible. Breakfast was pathetic, just stale bread and watered-down coffee. Check-in dragged on, and the staff were rude and unprofessional from the start, acting like having me there was a nuisance. Save your money and sanity, stay somewhere else. This place is a health hazard and a total scam.

The staff were so friendly and helpful with our luggage, and I loved the hotel. My parents are over 70 and can't manage stairs, so they arranged an elevator-access room for us, which I really appreciated. Some rooms don't have elevator access, so it's best to contact them ahead of time.

After a long, tiring trip from the U.S., I appreciated the receptionist's warm welcome and suggestions for well-known local restaurants. The front desk staff were attentive, and being right in the city center made everything convenient. I'm grateful for the warmth and hospitality of the Vietnamese people, and I'll definitely return.
