LUMI Hotel & Apartment

The location felt nicely balanced: anywhere in Hanoi was reachable within 30 minutes by motorbike, and a Japanese convenience store was only a 30-second walk away. The room was clean, the staff friendly, and I thought the price was good value.

17/6/25: A room with plenty of female DNA. Even after I asked for a thorough clean, I found long hairs in different shades and curls on the towel, pillowcase, and even on the sheets beneath the duvet. I guess I'll never know whose DNA I slept with last night. For the price, it's otherwise a good room, with a full-length window, fans, air conditioner, washing machine, and kitchenette. It's easy to find, near lots of eateries, and quiet despite being close to them. They cleaned up straight away when I pointed it out, but cleaning needs improvement. Please remove the sofa cushions for upholstery cleaning too. One other concern: the bidet spray sits directly above the power socket for the automatic bidet. Water has dripped onto it and caused sparks. I wonder what would happen if a fire started. It could happen, with so many fires reported in these tube apartments.

We had our best night's sleep in two weeks at this cozy, well-equipped service apartment. It's in a very quiet spot, close to several Japanese restaurants that stay open late, and I'd stay again. Our host was super friendly and helpful when we arrived at 1am after our previous hotel canceled at the last minute. We didn't speak each other's languages, but Google Translate and basic gestures got us through.

The apartment has good-quality appliances and all the essentials, even though the room isn't huge. It sits on a quiet street, so nights are peaceful. Just remember to switch on the water heater about 10 minutes before a shower. A lovely place to stay, and I'd recommend it.
