Le Lodge Ninh Binh

I stumbled on this place while searching for a hostel that had closed. My $12 room was clean and comfortable, the courtyard had charm, and the owner, Jessie, was super welcoming. Dinner, cooked by Jessie's dad, was delicious. They can arrange bus tickets, and the prices are fair. I only learned that after I'd already overpaid for a bus out of town somewhere else.

The building is a bit old, but the hotel is good value. There's a nice shared area for eating, and the food is okay. The staff are very nice, though some don't speak English. They also rent bikes and scooters and have laundry service.

The family took great care of me from start to finish, and this was the best homestay I've stayed at in Vietnam. They messaged me on WhatsApp with taxi prices from the station, tested my scooter, and even filled it with petrol in case the station was closed. The young woman speaks great English and is incredibly kind. After a long day of sightseeing, the lush, laid-back patio was a great place to get away from the traffic. I couldn't have asked for more. I'd stay again and recommend it to any friend visiting Ninh Bình.

We stayed four nights and felt like part of the family. It was a pleasant, very comfortable visit, and Jessie helped us with everything we needed. She gave honest advice about attractions around ninh binh and really helped make our time in the city amazing. 10/10!
