Madelise Central Hotel & Travel

The location is excellent and the staff were very nice, but the hotel was just okay. The rooms were okay too, though old, and the photos on Agoda and elsewhere make it look nicer than it really is. It felt somewhat misleading. There aren’t proper facilities like a gym, pool, or breakfast, and they never refilled the limited minibar and fridge. It wasn’t worth the $80 USD per night we paid. For tours, I’d use an outside vendor such as “Get your guide,” TripAdvisor, or Klook. That seems like the better option for Hanoi hotel stays. Don’t use the hotel’s suggested trip vendors. I don’t think they’re vetted very well, though there may be good ones. That was my experience in Hanoi. I STILL WANT My $140 USD back for the awful Jeep tour!

The location is great, and the staff were generally okay. I booked a City View but got a room with no view. The air-con took about 10-20mins to cool down. They did upgrade us to a family room with a balcony at no extra cost, but it was old, the paint looked faded, the door hinges were out of place, and the floors were dirty. I rarely complain, but this really wasn’t it and wasn’t worth my $100 for two nights.

The staff were very accommodating and let us check in early, then surprised us with a room upgrade at no extra cost. The location was excellent and made it easy to get around the city. A great stay at Medelise Hotel in Hanoi, with comfort and service I’d happily recommend.

The staff were so welcoming, and they even moved us to a better room for our one night because there was construction in the lobby. The room was on the small side but nice, and the location was great. Renting one of the hotel’s motorbikes at a very fair price made getting around much easier too. I’d recommend it for a short Hanoi stay.
