Media Central Hotel & Spa

We had a blast at Media Central 😁 The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and well maintained, and breakfast came with a delicious range of choices. The hotel really lives up to its name, right in the center of everything you need. Most of all, the staff were amazing: friendly, helpful, and always ready to go the extra mile. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi from abroad!

The room had no window, which did make it darker and quieter for sleeping, though that was the one downside. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was tasty and standard, and the location was very convenient. The receptionists were some of the kindest people I’ve met. They made us feel welcome, shared lots of tips, and helped sort out a chaotic taxi mix-up when another guest took our airport cab. Francis, whoever you are, you made our last day a nightmare 😀 Thanks to the reception team for going out of their way to help us.

I was glad we only stayed one night. I had the flu and had asked for a quiet room on a high floor so I could rest, but we ended up on the second floor beside the elevator and staircase. The room had no natural light, and noise carried easily up from the ground floor, including staff shouting and noise from other guests. I gave it a few hours before mentioning it, but the noise kept going, and there were drums from somewhere in the morning too. It was much too noisy for us. We’d stayed at Leman Old Quarter Hotel nearby two days earlier, and it was cheaper and much more peaceful. Sadly, it was sold out, so we couldn’t extend there. The hotel itself was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were welcoming. I liked the decor, though breakfast was only okay, with better options at other hotels.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel is in a great spot. Our suite was huge, but construction materials blocked the city view, leaving the room without daylight for both nights we stayed there. We moved for the final two nights, and the second room had no tapware for filling the bath. The website says the king suite should have a city view and balcony, but neither of our suites had a balcony. Check directly with the hotel about what you’re booking.
