We found plenty of good local food nearby, which felt like a nice change from the touristy, Western-style places in the old town. I loved the banh cuon down the street for breakfast, Bún Chả Số 38 a few streets away for lunch, and 4P's about ten minutes away for pizza. There’s Japanese and Korean food around too. It’s a 15-minute walk to Hoàn Kiếm Lake, and you can take in bustling Vietnam along the way. We booked at the last minute after our other reservation was unexpectedly cancelled, and they kindly let us check in early at no extra cost. The location is great. The room was spacious and fairly comfortable, though the bed was a bit hard. The toilet was clean and there was hot water, but it took a while to heat up again after someone showered. No housekeeping was done. The walls are thin, so it can be noisy in this somewhat busy area, though I suppose it’s still much better than living near the old quarters. The room was adequate and useful for what we needed. Staff couldn’t really speak English, but we didn’t need much and managed with Google Translate.

The room was the only good part of our stay. We weren’t given the things listed in the booking, and breakfast was very limited despite what we’d paid for it. When we complained, the staff member who understood English better became rude. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The rooms were really spacious and clean. The hotel in Hanoï is in a great location, quiet, and affordable. We had an amazing stay.
