NT Elysian hotel

I’m curious how this got a 5 star rating. The Agoda pictures looked nice, but the real place wasn’t as new. The hotel is outdated, and everything in the room is getting old. Even the kettle didn’t work, and I was uncomfortable there. The shower water heater was weak, so it was hard to adjust the temperature to warm, and the waker was weak too. The location is okay, with restaurants around, and it’s a 20-minute walk to trains street and ho kian lake. I’ll stay somewhere else next time. Definitely not this old hotel.

The street can’t be reached by bus, so for a tour you have to walk to the main road to meet the bus. That’s useful to know, though I was really glad I stayed here for a week. The location is fantastic, right in the Old Quarter and close to everything. Both receptionists were welcoming and very friendly, especially the older gentleman, though unfortunately I don’t remember his name. There’s an elevator, and my room was spacious and very clean, including the sheets. I liked the dim lighting, which made it cozy. The shower had good pressure and a heater, and there was A/C and a fridge. Housekeeping cleaned daily and left two complimentary bottles of water. The walls aren’t fully soundproof, but it wasn’t much of an issue for me. I’d stay here again.

The Reception Manager was especially kind, professional, and helpful throughout our stay, and we felt very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was great. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

On our first night in Vietnam, Tommy, the owner, sat us down with a map and went through places for whatever we asked about, from food and coffee to massages. He even gave us his Whats App # in case we had questions while out. He was so helpful. The rooms were clean and well maintained, with good showers, and most places around the old quarter were a short walk away. It was an awesome first stay. We’ll be back on our next visit!
