Ping Diamond Hotel

The room I got faced a cement wall, like a prison, even though I'd booked a city view. They said that room wasn't available. Breakfast was disappointing, and there was no shower gel, just shampoo and conditioner that smelled identical. I couldn't tell if one might actually have been shower gel in the wrong bottle, and felt unsure about using them. They initially refused a VAT invoice, saying they could only issue one if I cancelled on Booking or gave them a 5-star rating. In the end they gave me the invoice, but cancelled the booking themselves. A staff member said they'd get in trouble with the manager if I left a bad review. Now I understand why the place has such a high score, it felt like they were forcing people to rate them.

I paid 900,000 VND for the stay, including breakfast and VAT. The room itself was nice, but there were several issues. At breakfast there was no choice, just two kinds of pho, with no salad, coffee, or other drinks. I don't like pho, so I had nothing to eat. The bathtub drained very poorly, and I had to keep pressing the toilet lever to flush. The safe's batteries were dead, so it couldn't be used. There was rubbish outside the room and broken hangers inside. Construction at two neighboring sites, in front of and beside the hotel, started at exactly 6:00 am, making it very hard to sleep overnight. I understand neighborhood construction isn't something the hotel can fix itself, but they could improve the breakfast options, clean more thoroughly, and fix the drainage. I hope they make those improvements.

After March 2025, noisy construction at the neighboring building is supposed to continue for a year. Why are they doing the work at night? I can't sleep at all.

Great location, a spotless room, and amazing staff made this a fabulous choice for a quick Hanoi trip. It's a real gem for a vacation, with reasonable prices for such good service. Highly recommend!
