Somerset Grand Hanoi

The location made it easy to walk to the lake and Old Quarter attractions, and the washing machine came in handy. Room service was tasty and reasonably priced. After a late day trip, the kids were happy to have pizza and a burger. The breakfast buffet had a good range, including an egg station and pho, and some rice-based options for those avoiding gluten, though there was no gluten-free bread. Our three-day stay was lovely. The staff were attentive and helpful, the rooms spacious and comfortable despite looking a little dated, and the beds and good-pressure showers were great. The pool had plenty of loungers and towels, and the teenagers enjoyed the table tennis and pool table. The gym was surprisingly well equipped, with dumbbells up to 25kg, a Smith machine, and a bench press. I’d recommend it, especially for families.

We spent four lovely nights at Somerset Grand. The spacious rooms and breakfast lived up to what we'd read, and the staff were warm and helpful. Lisa in the gym area was especially wonderful with our children, even holding our baby for a while so we could play with the older kids. Emma from Customer Relations greeted us with a bottle of wine for a family milestone, and Will at the front desk gave us honest, respectful, and direct advice. A fantastic hotel for families.

This was our third Somerset hotel on the trip, and it was amazing. The spacious, clean modern apartment had very cold AC, and the staff always had towels ready at the pool. We swam every evening when it was empty, but afternoons get busy. There’s also pool, table tennis, pickleball, and a small park for kids. Breakfast was decent, with pho bo, pho ga, and another noodle soup each day. One small letdown was the lack of Vietnamese iced coffee, unlike at the other hotels. You have to make your own from the hot coffee and ice they provide.

It’s a vintage-style apartment, but exceptionally clean, with comfortable beds and clean linens and towels. The large layout includes two rooms and a living room, wall-to-wall carpeting, and a master bedroom with its own bathroom and bidet. There’s another shower and toilet for the second room. The kitchen was spotless, with clean cooking and eating utensils, an oven, an integrated microwave, an electric stove, and a washer dryer. Staff were courteous and ready to help at any time. The location is wonderful, close enough to walk to the old city but quiet and clean. There’s a supermarket and several restaurants on the ground floor. Thank you, thank you.
