The Art classic hotel & Spa

For $27 a night, this was incredible value for the service. The staff were extremely pleasant, our room was clean, and the location was pretty good. We were facing a very loud street, though, and the lobby smelled a bit musty. Our room itself was great. Breakfast was excellent, with a small buffet and a menu to order Western or Vietnamese dishes. I had the beef pho every day, and it was very good.

We booked three rooms, and reception greeted us warmly with welcome drinks. But one room was moldy and smelled damp. The superior room had bed bugs, and all three beds had hair left behind by previous guests. We tried calling reception to switch rooms, but nobody answered. We could hear the phone ringing through the fire stairs. My friend went downstairs and got stuck in the elevator; it started moving again after a few minutes. We decided to change hotels and asked for a refund. The “tour manager” spoke rudely, raised his voice as we continued asking, and said we were too young to travel Vietnam. We're Vietnamese Australians aged 23-28 and visit Vietnam once or twice a year. We've never had such outrageous customer service. I wouldn't recommend staying here. The higher price definitely wasn't worth the bed bugs.

For the price, the hotel was fine and in a budget area. One light switch was missing, so I had to use a flip flop to turn the light off, but that was minor. It was noisy, with building work out front too. The staff were great throughout my trip, and I was impressed by their service and local knowledge.

The location was fairly close to tourist spots like the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre, and a receptionist showed us attractions around the area. Customer service was pretty good. Breakfast had a decent range of items, made to order and brought to us. The rooms were clean, but quite small and looked much better in the pictures. It was fine overall, though I think there are better options out there! D:
