The room itself was fairly clean, apart from some dust in the corners behind the nightstands. The bigger problem came on our second night, when cockroaches got in through a small unsealed gap above the bathroom ceiling. It’s really bad to have openings like that where bugs can get in at any time. When we asked to change rooms, and even offered to pay, the staff couldn’t help because of the language barrier. Another staff member apologized the next day and was so nice that I decided to update this review. For backpacker standards, the price was pretty good. The place is okay, and despite the smell that sometimes comes with having no windows, a private, spacious double room felt like a reasonable deal. Turning on the fan clears the smell pretty quickly. I’d say 3.5 stars. The place has good potential, but the rooms need a little extra care to make them worth it.

The rooms and floors were clean, and breakfast on the fifth floor was good. I had noodles with egg as part of the free breakfast. Vinmart is about a five-minute walk away, KFC around ten minutes, and you can reach other places on foot too, though there isn’t a proper food restaurant nearby. The hotel is across the city, down a narrow street. The room was okay, but the stairs are narrow and there were mosquitoes. Only one staff member could understand and speak English.

I couldn’t sleep at all. The room had no window, the Wi-Fi was bad, and it smelled awful. It was filthy too, with a cockroach.
