At night, the smoke from trash burning in the vacant lot beside our apartment gets especially strong, and the smell comes right into our home. We can't even go for walks around the building. I'm concerned about our respiratory health, and it doesn't seem like Vinhomes is doing anything to manage the problem.
For years, illegal burning in the vacant lot around the West Point apartment complex has gone unaddressed. Residents complain about the inconvenience and the harm it poses to their health, and some are considering moving. It lowers the quality of the apartment, and I wouldn't recommend living here to people I know.
There are lots of supermarkets and minimarts downstairs in the blocks. The whole compound is pretty self-sufficient, with facial services, massage, nails, a toy store, and plenty more.
The smell is awful today, and my chest feels tight. What's the point of a nice apartment when the surroundings are this bad? On weekend mornings, the noise from the soccer field keeps me from sleeping in. At night, the trash-burning smell makes me feel like I'm going to get lung cancer. During the day it's motorcycle exhaust, then I come home to that smell again. There are children and pregnant women living here too. Please stop burning trash.
That cooking smell from other apartments gets into the shared lobby, which is a big downside if you're thinking of buying or renting here. I can't tell whether it affects just a few units or most of them. On the 5th floor, the mini park linking W1 and W2 is a nice spot for a break or a relaxing walk. It has a children's slide, a few pieces of light exercise equipment, and views toward Ring Road 3 and Do Duc Duc Street, including the Hanoi Museum and JW Marriott Hanoi hotel. There's also a pool and a gym.
