The kitchen was filthy, with a hob but no pots, pans, or plates, and the bedsheets were dirty too. After I paid cash on arrival, staff told me 30 minutes later there was an extra $5 charge for checking in early. That felt sneaky. This was the worst place I've stayed in Vietnam during the five years I've lived here. Terrible.

The best part was the cleaning lady, who was lovely and often asked how I was doing. She also helped guests put clothes in the shared washer and dryer. The manager was understanding for a few months when I was short on money and paid rent late. I rented a two-bedroom apartment for 9.3 million VND a month and lived here for a year. The rent was already quite high, yet there were lots of additional charges, including parking, air conditioner repairs, gas replacement, and cleaning and repainting when I moved out. When my contract ended, I planned to renew, but they hadn't maintained the air conditioner and said I'd have to pay if I wanted that done. It felt like tenants were expected to cover all the wear and tear. The walls' corners and the gaps around the sliding doors were very dirty. I didn't spot that before paying the deposit. The hot water was unreliable, sometimes working and sometimes not. Security staff kept changing, and some were lazy and had a very bad attitude. Cameras weren't placed near the delivery area or residents' belongings, so thefts happened often and couldn't be investigated. Also, nobody here speaks a language other than Vietnamese, which may be difficult for foreign residents.

The guard was pleasant and easygoing, but the room itself was dusty and had quite a few cockroaches. It seemed like it hadn't been cleaned properly in a long time, even though it was otherwise in good condition. For more than 300k VND, it felt like a waste of money. They took payment straight away, so even if I wasn't happy, I couldn't switch to another place.
