Chilla Palace sits in a central spot tucked among authentic Vietnamese homes, and we loved our stay there. The reception staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, and stylish, though there was some mould on the bathroom ceiling. An extractor fan could likely prevent that. Breakfast was a single option that changed by weekday, but it was fine for the low price. Vegetarians should let reception know ahead of time, and they’ll arrange something.

The team were kind and helpful, and the property was very clean with its own distinctive decor. I also liked that breakfast changed each day. Chilla is in a quiet alley, with Vietnamese food just outside it, and is far enough from Saigon’s nightlife noise while still close to places like Bui Vien walking street and Ben Thanh market. I was very happy with my stay and thought it was good value.

The bed was very comfortable, the staff were friendly, and there was hot water. But the TV didn’t work, apparently because of the network, and the bathroom felt damp without an extractor. Breakfast was poor: no buffet, just powdered juice and one Vietnamese dish. Outside, three AC units right by our windows made noise.

The bed was so comfortable, and the staff were really nice, friendly, and helpful. Chilla’s design and decor made me feel at home. I loved it.

The room was clean, but we didn’t like that there wasn’t a small towel for washing our faces. The bike rental was really bad too.
