We'd stayed at 18 hotels on this trip without extra charges, and after one night here we were hit with an additional 100.000 at checkout. The hotel said blood spots had appeared on both pillows while I was asleep and charged a fine for them. I think it's an unwarranted, underhanded way to get more money from guests. Pillowcases go through industrial washing with the rest of the laundry, and modern detergent should wash out blood. If the hotel wants another 100.000 to cover this kind of cleaning, it should add that to the guest price instead of upsetting people at checkout. I've worked in professional pest control for years, and unexplained blood spots can sometimes point to bed bugs, so check for them. It could also be that I scratched an itch from a sand fly bite in my sleep. I can't control whether I scratch or bleed while asleep. My wife didn't scratch anything, though, so I don't know how spots appeared on her pillow too. The receptionist suggested I should have covered my pillow with a towel. But if I can't predict a spot, why would I do that? Should we have covered the sheets and duvet too, just in case? I'm sure hotels make enough profit to handle washing blood, vomit, excrement, or other bodily discharge that might happen while guests sleep. I'm not staying at your hotels again.
A convenient, good-value place to stay if you need to be near the airport in h*.Chi minh. It's only minutes away. The rooms are clean, the prices are good, and the AC and wifi are excellent. Friendly staff too.
For what it costs, this hotel is just okay. Our room was small, and the floor was very dirty when I wiped it with a wet towel. The room is modern, though, and the AC works fantastically. Breakfast was okay, ordered from a menu.
Most of the staff were good, but a few weren't. The room felt stuffy and was very small, with all the windows and doors tightly shut. The price was high for the quality, and breakfast had very limited choices. I had a terrible experience over a small box of durian. I brought it in without knowing it was banned. The regulation book I'd read gave only general information. The day before checkout I asked staff where to buy durian, and they cheerfully gave me directions without warning me not to bring it to the room. We were rushing to catch our flight back to the Uk, but at the last minute a woman I thought was the manager held us up over a 1 million Vnd fine for the smell. I asked her to understand that it was my first mistake and that we were in a real hurry, or I'd miss the flight. I paid her 500,000 vnd, all the money I had in my pocket, and begged her to understand. She still insisted on the rest. My family had to run out to the waiting taxi like criminals instead of customers, and we missed our flight because she delayed us. All our plans in the Uk are now cancelled. A terrible stay, and I won't come back. If you need GRAB to get around the city, download the app and call your own ride. They may charge you lots and lots of money if they “help” arrange it.
Vân, the pretty receptionist, welcomed me warmly, found me the room I wanted, and checked me in very quickly. The hotel is in a good spot, five minutes from the airport, and my room was clean, spacious, and had a quite modern look. A+++
