Cozrum Homes-Premier Residence

We chose this place based on the Agoda photos and reviews, but the room was cramped compared with the listing and dusty around the kitchen sink, TV, and balcony. The location shown on Agoda also seemed inaccurate. It felt far from everything, and the road was so narrow that most Grab drivers wouldn't go in, leaving us to walk to the main road. During our three nights, nobody cleaned or replenished the water, toilet paper, or towels. The bed squeaked whenever we moved or sat down, and its springs were already sticking out underneath, so it was hard to sleep. I wouldn’t recommend it. At this price, you can get a much better hotel in HCM City.

The room was clean, but there was no complimentary water or room cleaning. Most of the terrible service came from the guard/house keeper. He was an old, grumpy man who argued with us for ringing the bell when we first arrived without the key pass. He refused to open the door for me because my roommate had the key, saying it was a self-service apartment. He spoke to customers as if he were the boss of everyone. Unless the owner does something about it, I’d stay away to avoid the frustration.

The alley location works for motorbikes, though it can be awkward for larger cars. The room could use a little tidying, but it was otherwise okay to stay in. The “Uncle” at reception was pleasant, with nothing to complain about. Remember to bring your passport for check-in, as at most hotels and homestays. Also, staff in Vietnam may only speak basic English, so having Google Translate ready could help.

The room was quiet and big enough for a couple or small family, with a lovely balcony, a pretty clean bathroom, and a neat, simple setup. I found the couch so comfortable that I’d rather sleep there than in the bed. I really like the freedom of staying at Cozrum, it feels a lot like traveling abroad, and I’d like to try other rooms next time. A couple of things need attention: the sofa is a bit torn, and the door lock responds slowly when opening or closing.
