The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had good equipment, but there was no water provided. We were already put off by finding a 10 cm cockroach in the bathroom as soon as we entered, and couldn't wait to leave after that. The towels and duvet smelled fine but had lots of stains, as did the walls, and the whole room was worn down. We only booked one night, thankfully. We arrived at night to a dodgy little alley with rats around and a man standing at the corner or in front of the door, just staring at us. Communication wasn't smooth, though I've had worse.

My room was 101 on the first floor, with a double bed and a large, semi-private patio. It was handy for morning coffee, evening drinks, and drying laundry or towels. All the rooms face the small street. Nights were fairly quiet, but by 5:15am the roosters, other local birds, and morning traffic would wake you. Keep food put away, or ants will find it. If you like Chinatown, the location is good, with many local restaurants and friendly locals around, though not much shopping. The nearest good convenience store is about a two-minute walk. There’s no on-site staff except the maid, who’s usually there from about 10am to 4pm. For any problems, you have to contact them through social media, and they respond fairly promptly. Check-in is at 2pm, but they only send the procedure through social media after you message on arrival, so don't expect the details to arrive automatically. The keycard worked easily at the building entrance, but opening my room took several tries every time. Cleanliness was an issue. The white bedding and towels weren't refreshed during my stay, and they seemed to wash them between bookings in a household machine. Old stains were still visible, and I think they should be professionally laundered. They didn't provide bottled water, though there's a purified? water machine in the lobby and an empty flask to fill.

I asked customer service what they could do, and they told me there was cockroach spray outside and I should fetch it and spray the bugs myself. The problem started as soon as I opened the side entrance door: cockroaches from the hallway came into my room. Inside, there were numerous more, and it was clear the place hadn't been cleaned, even though I'd requested an extra cleaning before arrival. This may not be the worst place to stay, but that was an awful response.
