DDA Hotel District 1

The rooms were basic but fairly clean, and the Wi-Fi worked well enough, though I had to refresh it a few times. The music from outside seemed to vibrate through the walls. We had a family room and a triple room on separate floors. I’d booked two triple rooms at Ipeace Hotel through Agoda for four nights. The staff there said our rooms had water damage and asked us to move to a hotel “only 50m away.” DDA Hotel was actually 220 meters away, close to the Bui Vien main party area I’d deliberately avoided. My group of six had just finished a full day of travel, and we had to carry our own luggage through the busy night street to check in late. I told the DDA front desk I was upset about moving everyone and explained that I’d chosen Ipeace for its location away from Bui Vien’s noise. I said I didn’t want to stay at DDA if we could avoid it, since I don’t sleep well around noise. The staff member kept saying it would stop at 2am and we’d be fine, which didn’t address what I was saying. The conversation got tense. He was irritable but insisted we stay one night and return to Ipeace the next day if we wanted. Then he tossed a room key onto the desk in case I wanted to look at a room first. My companions were exhausted and wanted to rest as soon as possible, so we accepted. The next day, Agoda said it couldn’t refund me and left the matter to the hotels. Since we didn’t want to haul our things to another hotel 220 meters away, we stayed three more nights with the loud music coming through the walls. Apart from that night-shift front desk worker, the staff we met were fine. The daytime front desk worker was helpful, and the cleaning staff were friendly. Would I stay again? No. Would I recommend it? Only if you’re fine with nighttime noise.

The staff were really kind, and the location is great if you want to go out at night. Bui Vien street is right there. The rooms and beds are quite small for sharing, and if you’re not going out, the noise could make this the wrong spot for you.

The location in district one is okay, but everything else was a zero for me. The photos don’t match the actual room, the bedsheets seemed to have been refolded without washing, and basic hospitality was missing. There was no water, and the phones didn’t work, so I couldn’t ask for it to be brought to the room. For the price, this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Don’t book it, it could ruin your experience. If zero stars were possible, I’d give it that.

I left and changed hotels at 2 AM on the third day because I couldn’t deal with this place anymore. The room was extremely narrow, not even comfortable for one person, and there was barely space to open luggage. The website photos looked completely different from what I got. For three days, nobody cleaned the room. The floor and walls were dirty, and the blanket had hair on it. The bathroom lock didn’t work, the TV was tiny and unusable, and the air conditioner would run and then suddenly stop. Hot water also took ages to heat up. Reception was terrible. They gave no attention when I reported problems, and their English was zero. There was no control over who could enter the hotel.
