G8 Riverside Hotel Saigon

The location wasn’t as convenient as it seemed, about a 20-minute walk to the center, and there are better options for this price. We can’t recommend the property. Our first room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We asked to move, but the second room smelled heavily of smoke too. Since it was late and we were exhausted, we had to air it out ourselves. Sound insulation was very poor: we heard neighbors talking, flushing the toilet, and using a hair dryer, so getting proper rest was difficult. Breakfast was disappointing, with a very limited selection and several flies on the fruit, which raised hygiene concerns. During our six-night stay, the sheets weren’t changed properly, and once visibly dirty bedding was put back on the bed. The stay didn’t meet expectations or match the price.

We had a wonderful four nights at G8 Riverside in two river-view rooms. The housekeeping ladies did a great job making up the rooms daily, and it was nice to return to a clean one. At the Sky Bar, where we had breakfast and supper, we enjoyed time and chats with Viet, Sam, Rosy and Ti. Thanks to them. Receptionists Ms One, Ms Linh and Gail welcomed us, suggested nearby places to visit and excursions, and quickly answered our questions on WhatsApp. Thanks for a memorable stay!

The bellmen were polite and helpful, always greeting guests with a smile. The reception team were professional, friendly, and ready to assist whenever needed. Their hospitality and positive attitude made me feel welcome and left a great impression on my trip.

We had a great two-day stay and would stay again next time we’re in Ho Chi Min. The rooftop bar served tasty food and delicious drinks, and our comfortable room had a nice bathroom. We’d seen other reviews mention road noise, but our room was extremely quiet for the location. The location on Google Maps is correct, though booking.com sometimes shows it wrong. It was convenient and easy to get to, and being right beside Syle Motorbikes made returning our rented motorcycles simple.
