Hanh Long 1 Hotel

I was left really disappointed with the Vietnamese hotel industry after this. The equipment wasn't working, but they still knowingly let guests check in. Staff couldn't fix the issue and just lied about it. The front desk said they couldn't refund a stay of more than five hours, even with the equipment malfunctioning, and they were extremely rigid about it.

The workers were kind enough to open the taxi doors and hold umbrellas for us in the rain, which I appreciated. Still, the room had issues: the closet was dusty, the new bedsheets always had stains, and ants kept showing up whenever we put food on the table.

We booked through Agoda, but when we arrived the hotel couldn't find our reservation, even though the confirmation had the hotel's correct email address. The room was full of cockroaches and ants, there was no Wi-Fi, and the receptionist wasn't helpful. On the third day of our four-day stay, they said Agoda had never paid them and demanded double the rate we had agreed to through Agoda. They said Agoda had cancelled the booking, but waited until day three to tell us and make us pay more. We had no choice because they were holding our passports, and it turned into a she-said-he-said situation. I wouldn't recommend this place. The cleanliness was terrible, customer service was nonexistent, and they kept our passports.

I give this hotel 3 stars each time I stay at 1115 hanh loong hotel tran Hung Dao Q.5. It's a budget two-star place near the market. Around District 5 you can find local street food like soya Bean and Bean curb tofu pudding, fried carrot cake, pork ribs soup, wanton / pork leg noodle, and the famous Vietnam French loaf. There are also places selling roats duck, pork n beef noodles, and more.
