Heaven Hut

The staff made us feel welcome, carrying our luggage at check-in and check-out and helping print travel documents. They smiled and even stood up to greet us when we passed reception. Ethan was especially sweet and kind. The facility is newly renovated, the air conditioning gets very cold, and room service is consistent. The Wi-Fi connection is good, and the location is never far from Ben Thanh Market.

Room 501 was big and spacious, and there are good restaurants on both sides of the road. Evan was courteous, polite, and helpful. Be sure to stop by the new chapter cafe on the corner, and the Wantan Noodle shop down the road. Loved it 💓

The staff were nice, but the place had more of a hostel feel. We had a deluxe city-view room on the fourth floor of a six-floor hotel. I hadn't checked the room size before booking. Ten days earlier, we stayed on the other side of park 23/9 for $5 less, in a much better room with a full kitchenette, closet, and a few English channels. Compared with that, this room was tiny and better suited to one person than two. The bed was good, but it wasn't queen size by US standards, more like a full. There was no table, chair, or closet. The bathroom was awkward. Water sat on the floor and drained slowly, so if your partner wanted to use the toilet, they'd have to walk through your shower water. There's almost no room for toiletries, and everything is tiny. The street has cafes mixed with small warehouses and scooter repair shops, and it can get very crowded, though the windows block noise pretty well. The windowless rooms look claustrophobic, though maybe they'd work for a one-night stay. The plumbing may be an issue, since they ask you to sign that toilet paper shouldn't be flushed. There was also a smell in the elevator area by reception. The entrance looks like a store, and we initially walked past it by a few feet. If we hadn't had that cheaper comparison, I might have given it another half star, so perhaps it's my fault for not checking the room size. I saw some really nice boutique hotels on the next parallel block, with no traffic at all, but I still prefer the area north of park 23/9.

Evan, Tu, and Phuong were so kind and accommodating, always greeting us with a smile. The location was handy for famous landmarks, cafes, and shopping. We enjoyed our stay at Haven Hut. Thank you!
