Kally Hotel

We got a great view of the New Year fireworks from the rooftop. The reception staff were really kind, and gave us one larger room instead of two small ones, which worked out much better. The beds were clean and very comfortable, and they brought the extra blanket we asked for. The location was great for finding food and getting around, and the last-minute price was very good too.

I paid more than the phone booking price when I arrived, because they said I wasn't Vietnamese. I was exhausted, so I stayed one night, but they didn't honor what we'd agreed. I wouldn't recommend this place to foreigners. The room was poor, with mold and exposed wires in the bathroom. The next day I found a better, cheaper room in district 1.

There were cockroaches and loads of ants in our room, and they got into my suitcase. By the end there were 50-60 ants in it, so I had to wash everything. The sheets had yellow stains and there was mold in the bathroom. It was a horrible stay. The staff were nice, but that didn't make up for the state of the hotel.

I won't stay there again. My wife had booked a room for me by phone two days earlier, but when I arrived at 8 pm the staff didn't speak English and told me to leave. I called my wife and she spoke with them, and then I was allowed to stay. They said the 450k price on booking.com was old and wanted 700k. My wife managed to get it down to 600k. Unfriendly people.
